Welcome to St. Mary's School - where our vision is for our children to aspire, believe, belong and achieve, guided by the love of God. 

We are a small, friendly primary school within the town, where everybody knows each other and there is a real family atmosphere. In September 2022, Ofsted rated our school as good, saying that: "Pupils at St Mary’s Church of England school are happy and appreciate their teachers. They enjoy the ambitious curriculum and work that is set for them and strive to do their best." Our children are all treated as individuals and as a result they are well behaved and positive learners who take an active part in their community. We have high expectations of our pupils and in the 2024 assessments for Early Years Foundation Stage, Phonics and Year 6 our children achieved above national standards in most areas.
