Lyn Baldock Vice Chair Foundation Governor (Diocesan Board of Education)
I am committed to supporting the school and its Christian values to ensure all pupils are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
My son enjoyed his time at St Mary’s that encouraged me to become a governor so that I could ‘give something back’.
Suzanne Brewer Foundation Governor (Diocesan Board of Education)
I joined the governing body of St Mary’s Primary School in November 2019 as a Foundation Governor. My wide and varied teaching career has given me a good understanding of how schools work and how they can progress and provide an excellent education for all children. I live in the local area and have very recent teaching experience at St. Mary’s and have witnessed the many advantages that the strong links between Church, School and Diocese can provide for the whole school community. I welcome the opportunity to work with the governing body to support St. Mary’s School in maintaining high standards and achieving continued success.
Lucy Arnold-Courtney Foundation Governor (Parochial Church Council)
I have recently joined the governing body of St Mary's Primary School as a Foundation Governor. In my professional life, I am the Associate Director for Progression and Pre-Degree studies at the University of the Arts London and am Governor at the William de Ferrers Academy in South Woodham Ferrers (as Chair) and the Global Academy University Technical College in London. I live locally and my son attends St Mary's. I am committed to supporting our School, it's pupils and it's staff in their pursuit of personal development, achievement and success.
Bob Calver Foundation Governor (Parochial Church Council)
As well as being a Governor of St Mary’s School, I am a Burnham Town Councillor and a member of the Parochial Church Council of St Mary’s Church.
Before I retired I was a consultant to Government Departments such as the Department for Education on the efficient and cost effective use of property and services as well as advising on value for money in procurement and monitoring the performance of contractors.
After people, property and services are the highest cost of any organisation public or private and I hope my experience will help the school provide the best educational environment for our children.
Janet Stead Foundation Governor (Parochial Church Council)
I have been a Foundation Governor at St Mary's Primary School for eight years. I am committed to supporting the school and its Christian values to ensure all pupils are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
My daughter loved her time at St Mary’s and is currently at University. It was her love of the school that encouraged me to become a governor so that I could ‘give something back’.
Karis Galliano Croucher Parent Governor
I have been a Parent Governor for just over a year now and I am still finding my feet. I am attending training courses and seminars in order to fill my full potential in the role. I am passionate about St Marys and will do all I can to help support and challenge the Headteacher and teaching staff to continually strive to make the school even better than it is. In my professional life I have worked in the design and marketing industry for over 25 years helping to transform my clients' businesses and brands.
Steven Kimber Parent Governor
I have recently joined the Governing Board as a parent governor.
I've spent more than 30 years in industry, holding senior positions with a blue chip market-leader in the UK and overseas. I intend to apply the skills learned and experience gained to support St Mary’s.
School plays a key role in developing our children’s confidence, independence, happiness and love of learning and I am committed to doing what I can as a parent governor to support this.
Geraldine Denham-Hale Headteacher Staff Governor
I am extremely proud to have been the Headteacher of St Mary’s for 18 years, which means that I am able to play a full and active part on the school’s governing body. I thoroughly enjoy my role, which covers every aspect of the running of the school, including staffing, finance, health and safety and, of course, the children’s learning! I aim to ensure that our school continues to go from strength to strength, so that there are no limits to the achievements of St Mary’s children.
Jonathan Anderson Staff Governor
I am the Year 6 teacher at St Mary's School. I have extensive experience in education and have taught in both primary and secondary schools.
I passionately believe in the power of education to transform children's lives and I see being a Governor as an important part of ensuring our school provides the best education to our children.
Helen Denton Deputy Headteacher Associate Governor
I am Deputy Head at St. Mary's and have been on the governing body for nine years. I currently teach in year 4 but have previously been a teacher in years 3 and 6.
I have particular responsibilities for curriculum and standards in the school and I am subject leader for music. I thoroughly enjoy organising and rehearsing our Christmas music and we recently were privileged to not only perform in church but also outside a local store and in other areas of the community.
Ian Harris Local Authority Governor
I am a Governor representing the Local Authority and I have a child at the school.
I am now retired but my last job was CEO for Asia for a US Software firm and I was based in India and Thailand. Previously I was the finance manager of a bicycle company and I hope to draw on this experience in my role as Finance Governor.
I am also Treasurer and Trustee of the Burnham United Charity.
