Monday 20th April Welcome Back
Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome back to the new term and another three weeks of school closure. I do hope that you have managed to have some time to properly relax across the Easter break and that you are keeping safe and well at home.
We are adjusting to a new, temporary normality at school now. There is a rota of staff, who are here each day to care for the children of the critical workers and also to keep other aspects of school life running, so that there is a fully functioning school to return to when the day finally comes. Like you, we have no idea when that day will be. I anticipate that we will hear about it on the news at the same time as you do!
I hope that you are enjoying using Tapestry for Amber Class or Google Classroom (GC) for everyone else, to communicate with your child's class teacher about the learning. Now that the new term has started, you can expect to hear from the teachers every day. They will be setting learning activities and responding to the children online. If you have not yet accessed GC, then I would advise you to do so as soon as possible. We are keen to ensure that the children keep up with their learning and don't fall too far behind during the closure. It is also a really good way for them to keep in touch with their teacher and classmates, which most of the children seem to be enjoying. We tend to worry that something may be wrong if we don't don't hear from the children, so please do help your child to log on and keep in touch. If you have any problems with GC then you should email gcsupport@st-marys-burnham.essex.sch.uk not the school office.
There are staff at school every day, who will be able to support you and answer questions and queries as they arise, so please don't hesitate to contact us. Although people are working for different hours at the moment, someone will always get back to you if you need us.
Best wishes Geraldine Denham-Hale
