Spring 1

We have had a wonderful start to the new term and we have been very busy doing lots of amazing things! 

In maths we started off learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We named them and talked about their different properties and we sorted them into different groups. These groups were by size, shape, colour how many sides the shape had. We ended the week making repeated patterns with our shapes. 

In science our topic this half term is animals. We have been identifying different animals and what categories they fall into. We were all very surprised to learn that we are mammals just like whales and elephants! We worked really well in groups to put animals into different categories and then we made a class book which identifies similarities and differences between animals.
