Uniform

We encourage our children to take pride in their appearance, because this also leads to them taking pride in their school and in their learning. We expect all pupils to follow our uniform and dress code.

 WINTER UNIFORM (May be worn at any time of the year)

EITHER

  • Navy skirt or navy pinafore dress*.
  • White blouse/shirt; white school polo shirt with school badge; navy school sweatshirt with school badge; or navy v-necked cardigan.
  • White socks or navy tights.
  • Low heeled black or navy shoes.**

OR

  • Grey, black or navy trousers***.
  • White blouse/shirt; school polo shirt with school badge; navy school sweatshirt with school badge; or navy v-necked cardigan.
  • Grey or dark coloured socks.
  • Low heeled black or navy shoes.**

 

SUMMER UNIFORM (Optional and may be worn from 1st April until 31st October)

EITHER

  • Navy blue gingham dress*.
  • Navy school sweatshirt with school badge or navy v-necked cardigan.
  • White socks or navy tights.
  • Low heeled black or navy shoes.**

OR

  • Grey school shorts****.
  • White blouse/shirt; school polo shirt with school badge; navy school sweatshirt with school badge; or navy v-necked cardigan.
  • Grey or dark coloured socks.
  • Low heeled black or navy shoes.**

Notes

* Skirts and dresses should be not be unreasonably short or long. This rule is made on grounds of health, safety and modesty.

** Trainers, sandals and boots are not acceptable.

*** Trousers should be ankle length and not be tight fashion trousers, leggings or jeans.

**** Shorts should be knee length and not tight.

 

PE KIT

  • Plain white tee-shirt, navy blue shorts and black plimsolls.
  • Children may bring in trainers for outdoor games. Lightweight trainers may be worn in the hall.
  • Navy blue jogging bottoms and a school sweatshirt or navy blue tracksuit are required for outdoor games when it is cold.

SWIMWEAR

  • Either swimming trunks or a one-piece swimsuit. Cut-down trousers and long shorts are not allowed.
  • Swimming hat.
  • Also required: a large towel and a waterproof bag.

Children will need to bring their swimming kit into school on swimming days and they will change in the swimming pool changing rooms.

JEWELLERY

  • Jewellery is not encouraged in school and it is always best not to wear any jewellery on PE or swimming days.
  • Children may wear a small religious symbol, but this must be worn under the school uniform. 
  • Children who have pierced ears may wear small studs or sleepers only and these must be removed for PE and swimming lessons. Ear piercing should be left until the start of the summer holidays, so that children's participation in PE lessons is not affected.
  • Small watches may be worn, but must be removed for PE lessons. Pupils are not permitted to bring Smart watches to school, that are capable of any of the following tasks: filming, recording, sending/receiving messages or connecting to wi-fi/mobile networks.

HAIR

  • Long hair must be fully tied back. 
  • Bows/accessories should be small and in school colours.
  • Headbands should be plain and in school colours.
  • Hairstyles with designs cut into them, or which are excessively gelled or spiked are not appropriate for school.
